Religion and the Destruction
of Civilization?

Religion has killed more people than all the plagues appointed to man. Now it's preparing to destroy the world. Christendom (1000 to 1950) saw Popes warring against Patriarchs, western Christians crusading against Muslims, and Catholics butchering Protestants, and visa versa, (in Northern Ireland most recently). Now as Islam attempts to extricate itself from the hundred-year stranglehold of western petroleum using nations, instead of joining forces the Shiites and the Sunnis turn on each other, kill their natural alias and any chance of success.

God's people must realize our religions are being used to wreck civilization. (1) Over population and global warming, and (2) warring upon each other, both of which defy all the teachings of God, by what ever name, are partners in both. The international ecclesiastical community (ALL churches, temples, synagogues, mosques) and God's appointed messengers either remain silent, giving tacit support, or worse openly fan the flames of war and world abuse.

(1) It took us 77,000 years to put one billion upon the earth (1832). It has taken only 170 years to top six billion and we're growing at a billion every ten years. The sheer numbers of people and supplying of goods and services will accelerate global warming. If we don't arrest population growth and reverse it, in 20 years, we will be living on a food starved, energy depleted planet the size of a marble, fighting every day for a spot in a 3' x 5" living space. In the midst of this the Catholics and the Calvinist (the so called

christian right [it's neither]) fight to stop abortions and warn against birth control. Instead, we need to be teaching birth control is not a sin and supplying it those who can't afford it.

(2) We rear our children in the mosques, synagogues and churches teaching universal characteristics of a Godly life: Love, Peace, Restraint, Sharing and Wholesome living. Just imagine any institution so stupid and corrupt that when these children reach adulthood we turn, anointing them to go off and kill, rape, rob, plunder and conquer the very people we spent years teaching them to love. War must be stopped, it is ruining our species and the world's religions are 100% responsible for this evil.

I'm a born again - Holy Spirit filled Christian, yet because I preach the same things Jesus taught, the church will accuse me of heresy. I've spent my ministry attempting to bring human beings to a relationship with Christ, yet the best advice I can give the people of the world is quit your religion and run for your life, because you're church, mosque, whatever, is probably one of the most evil institution on earth.

I beg my fellow sojourners to reverse the last 1672 years of sickness and come back to the place where God would have us. Let us (1) replenishing the earth not destroy it, and (2) love and respect each other becoming the creature that God breathed into, creating living souls. We need to become Human Beings - together - For God's Sake.

Dr. Britt Minshall is the author of Ring of Angels, a book that covers the political and social climate in Haiti and Senior Pastor of the Cathedral Church of Saint Matthew, a United Church of Christ. He is also a former INTERPOL officer.
